India Cricketer Gets Married In Varanasi: 'Ready To Play The Longest Innings Together'

A new innings is underway in India cricketer Akash Deep’s life, as the fast bowler recently got married in a ceremony held in Varanasi. The right-arm pacer shared a series of pictures and a video from the celebrations with his wife, Akshita Raj, on Instagram.

“Ready to play the longest and most beautiful innings together,” Akash captioned the video, which features snippets from the wedding photoshoot and the ceremony. “As we begin this new chapter, I know that with you as my partner, every day will feel like a win. Here’s to our forever team.”

He later shared several pictures, including images of him posing alongside Akshita, offering a glimpse into the festive atmosphere.

“This beautiful wedding felt more like documenting two legends walking out

for their forever innings. No retakes, just timing, trust and team spirit,” he captioned the images.

While the wedding ceremony itself may have taken place in the historic city of Varanasi, celebrations had already begun in Akash’s native village of Baddi in Bihar’s Rohtas district. A series of ceremonies were attended by family members, friends and well-wishers.

Famous Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh was also present at the cricketer’s wedding.

According to reports, Akshita hails from Manikpur in Dehri.

“My son is a traditional Indian young man, and he has chosen an Indian woman as his life partner. This marriage is taking place with the blessings and approval of the family,” Akash’s mother was quoted as saying by India Today.

The 29-year-old made his international debut when India faced England in the Ranchi Test in 2024. He made an immediate impact, triggering a top-order collapse that saw the visitors lose their top three batters – Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Zak Crawley – within the space of 10 runs.

His last international appearance came during the England tour last year.

Akash was set to represent Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026 but was ruled out of the entire season due to a back injury.
