Gauahar Khan’s Husband Zaid Darbar To Make Acting Debut With Psychological Thriller Fangirl

For years, fans have seen Zaid Darbar lighting up social media with dance videos, fun collaborations and glimpses of his personal life. But now, the influencer is stepping into a completely different space, one that promises suspense, drama and a much darker screen presence.

Zaid is all set to make his acting debut with the psychological thriller series Fangirl. The upcoming project marks his first major acting venture and will see him move away from the light-hearted content he is popularly known for online.

The series will stream on the BULLET Microdrama app and is expected to explore the unsettling side of influencer culture, obsession and carefully curated online identities. While Zaid has built a strong fan following through dance and digital

content, Fangirl will reportedly present him in a more intense and layered role.

According to a source quoted by Times of India, “Zaid plays Karan, a charismatic influencer hiding behind a carefully curated online persona, as a fan’s admiration spirals into a disturbing obsession.”

The source further revealed that the actor has already started preparing extensively for the role. “He has been prepping extensively for Fangirl, and the team is expected to roll with key sequences featuring him very soon. Since the show is rooted in the world of influencers and curated social media lives, the makers felt he naturally fit the part. Everyone involved is excited to see audiences discover a more intense and dramatic side to him through this project.”

The thriller series also stars Nyra Banerjee in a lead role alongside Abhyuday Pandeey and Arya Gautam.

Zaid comes from a family deeply connected to the entertainment industry. He is the son of celebrated music composer Ismail Darbar and brother of choreographer and content creator Awez Darbar. He is also married to actor Gauahar Khan.
