TasteAtlas says its annual cuisine rankings are based on 590,228 valid user ratings for 18,912 traditional foods and dishes listed in its database. To improve reliability, the platform applies mechanisms to filter out bot activity and biased ratings before calculating the final scores. Rather than focusing on restaurants or chefs, the rankings evaluate entire national cuisines based on the popularity and ratings of their traditional foods.
