Defending champions New Zealand posted a 4-run victory over Ireland in their third Group B match of the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton.
NZ registered a total of 140/6 wickets in 20 overs as Izzy Sharp top-scored with 36 runs, while Brook Halliday and Amelia Kerr chipped in with contributions of 34 and 30 runs respectively. The Irish women were limited to 136/4 in 20 overs as half-centuries form Orla Prendergast and Gabby Lewis went in vain.
After suffering shocking defeats to West Indies and Sri Lanka in their first two matches of the 12-team tournament, the White Ferns
got off the mark with the win and kept their hopes of qualifying for the semifinals alive.
