New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Delhi’s maximum temperature settled at 34.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, which is normal for this time of year.
At Safdarjang, the city’s primary weather station, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below normal, according to IMD data.
Among other weather stations, Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road logged 33.8 degrees Celsius. The Ridge recorded a maximum of 33.4 degrees Celsius, and Ayanagar recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius.
Earlier, Lodhi Road recorded a low of 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature at the Ridge was 22.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees below normal.
Safdarjung recorded 2.4 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am, while Palam received 4.9 mm. Lodhi Road recorded 2 mm of rainfall, and the Ridge received 13.8 mm during the period. Ayanagar recorded trace rainfall, the IMD data showed.
Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality at 4 pm was recorded in the ‘satisfactory’ category on Monday. The average air quality index (AQI) was clocked at 85, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data said.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good,’ 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory,’ 101 to 200 ‘moderate,’ 201 to 300 ‘poor,’ 301 to 400 ‘very poor,’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe.’ IMD has predicted cloudy skies with light rain in the city for Tuesday.
