The disruption in IndiGo’s flight operations has triggered chaos at major airports across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Terminals have become heavily crowded, and passengers are growing
increasingly frustrated due to the lack of clear updates about their travel plans.
At Mumbai airport, one woman passenger lost her temper and was seen arguing with IndiGo staff as delays and confusion continued. A video of the incident is also going viral online.
“Keep completely quiet, sit exactly the way you were sitting. Head down, eyes closed, mouth shut. Whatever is happening, just let it happen.” (“Ekdum chup ho jao, jaise baithe the na waise baith jao. Munh niche aankhe band, munh band. Kuch bhi ho raha hai na hone dena”), the woman was heard saying in the video.

In another similar incident, a two angry passengers damaged a microphone used by IndiGo staff after waiting for nearly 20 hours at the terminal.
In another viral clip, a frustrated passenger was seen shouting at an IndiGo staff member who appeared unsure about the flight status. He demanded answers, saying, “Idhaar aa na, jawaab de na.”
A caption shared with the video stated, “Commuters lose their cool over hundreds of Indigo flights cancellations. Thousands of fliers were stranded at multiple airports across the county over the last moment cancellation.”
IndiGo Crisis
This comes as IndiGo faces a major crisis, delaying over 1,000 flights in the last four days. Friday alone saw the cancellation of over 700 flights.
In view of the situation, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday said that special attention must be given to vulnerable passengers. “We have instructed airport authorities that topmost priority needs to be given to children, mothers and senior citizens, that they should not face any problem,” Naidu said.
The central government also ordered a high-level inquiry into the large-scale disruption of IndiGo flights.
