Sep 5 (PTI) Police in Maharashtra’s Beed district have recovered cough syrup worth Rs 40,000 from an alleged drug peddler, officials said on Saturday.
Acting on inputs about the medicine being transported for illegal sale, police intercepted a man near Kala Hanuman Chowk within the jurisdiction of Peth Beed police station on Friday.
The man, Aftab Saleem Khan Pathan (28), was carrying 160 unlabelled bottles filled with cough syrup valued at Rs 40,000, they said.
Pathan has been arrested, and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they added. PTI COR NR
