Ramayana: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash Haven't Shot Film's Climax Yet? Former Reveals 'We Have Not Had...'

Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that he hasn’t shot for the Ramayana climax as of now. Recently, the actor was speaking at San Diego Comic Con when he opened up about working with Yash in Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial. Ranbir praised Yash ‘aura’ and went on to call himself a big fan of the Kannada superstar.

“Lord Rama and Ravana will be appearing together at the end of the film, with maybe a meeting in the middle. But we haven’t shot that. So, we haven’t had the opportunity to work together. But, I have known Yash for sometime now and I have been a big fan of his work. I truly believe that we needed somebody with his aura, his stardom, his outlook to play this role,” Ranbir said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“He has played it with so much swag, aura,

and honesty that he has really made Ravana come alive. Over the years, we have a very stereotypical depiction of Ravana, but not this one,” the actor added.

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing lord Ram in Ramayana, Yash will be seen essaying Ravana.

At the same event, Yash also called Ranbir a “fabulous actor” and said, “Nobody in this world can come and say, ‘I have the virtue to play Lord Rama’. The fact that he (Ranbir) said the same says it all. He is a fabulous actor. It’s not easy to play Lord Rama and the way he has really worked, huge respect to him.”

Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi will also be seen as Goddess Sita in the movie. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Lakshman, respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodari and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan are also part of this project.

Ramayana: Part I is slated for a theatrical release this Diwali, while the second chapter will release on Diwali 2027.
