Kolkata Knight Riders posted a 4-wicket win over Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday in the IPL 2026 encounter between the sides as Kolkata chased down the target of 148 with seven balls to spare thanks to Manish Pandey’s 45-run knock.
KKR won the toss and opted to field and experienced early joy with the dismissals of Ryan Rickelton for 6 runs as Cameron Green, before the Aussie all-rounder dismissed Naman dhir for a duck to double his tally. Dubey came in to continue the menace as he removed Rohit Sharma for 15 before piling on MI’s miseries further with the wicket of SKY.
Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya looked to steady the innings as rain interrupted play. The duo put up a 43-run stand as play resumed before Kartik Tyagi struck to remove
Verma for 20 off 32 balls.
Will Jacks came out to replace his fallen teammate and accompanied Pandya till the skipper was castled by Windies spinner Sunil Narine for 26 off 27 deliveries as Corbin Bosch walked in to bat. Jacks was run out by Rinku Singh for 14 runs, while Bosch’s cameo of 32 off just 18 helped MI post 147 on the board.
KKR lost star opener Finn Allen early as he fell to Deepak Chahar before Ajinkya Rahane was removed for 21 off 17. Green went cheaply to Bosch for 4 runs before Manish Pandey and Rovman Powell steadied the chase with a 64-run stand. Pandey added 45 off 33 before Jasprit Bumrah strick, before Powell was removed for 40 by Allah Ghazanfar.
Tejasvi Singh couldn’t make a dent in the chase as Bosch claimed his third wicket for 11 off 12. Rinku and Anukul Roy remained unbeaten on 9 and 4 runs respectively to take KKR past the target with just over and over to spare as Kolkata took their tally to 13 points with a game to go, while Mumbai were condemned to their ninth defeat of the season.
