Mumbai Indians pacer Deepak Chahar poked fun at the now-popular “chit” celebration during IPL 2026. The right-arm quick rattled Kolkata Knight Riders opener Finn Allen in the final over and celebrated the breakthrough by theatrically pulling out an imaginary chit from his pocket, mocking the trend that has taken the tournament by storm.

Chahar struck early to give the Mumbai Indians the perfect start, dismissing Finn Allen on the final delivery of the opening over. Bowling a back-of-a-length delivery outside off, Chahar induced an inside edge as Allen attempted an aggressive off-side shot, with the ball crashing into the stumps. Allen, who had looked promising after striking a couple of early boundaries,
was cut short before he could settle.
Chahar then added a touch of theatrics to the moment, mimicking the now-trending ‘chit’ celebration by pulling out an imaginary slip from his pocket and showing it to the crowd.

Earlier, KKR produced a disciplined bowling effort to restrict MI to 147 for eight in a must-win IPL 2026 clash at Eden Gardens. Opting to bowl in overcast conditions on a sluggish surface, KKR struck early, reducing MI to 41 for four in the powerplay. Cameron Green and Saurabh Dubey picked up two wickets each, with Green also shining in the field, including a fine running catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma.
MI suffered a middle-order collapse, losing three wickets in quick succession. After a rain break, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy tightened the grip, conceding just 14 runs in four overs. Narine dismissed Hardik Pandya and finished with 1 for 13.
Tilak Varma struggled for fluency, while a late unbeaten 32 from Corbin Bosch helped MI recover, adding 41 runs in the final three overs to post a competitive total.
