Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has been banned from driving after admitting responsibility for a high-speed motorway crash in Germany, with prosecutors confirming that the midfielder was travelling well above the speed limit at the time of the accident.
The incident occurred on April 13, 2025, on the A8 Autobahn near Neubiberg, while Musiala was driving towards Salzburg in his Audi RS e-tron GT, a powerful electric sports car capable of producing more than 600 horsepower. Reports in Germany stated that the Bayern Munich playmaker’s younger sister was also in the vehicle during the collision.

According to Munich public prosecutor’s office spokesperson Florian Lindemann, Jamal Musiala was recorded driving at 194 km/h in a 120 km/h zone before
crashing into a VW Golf during an overtaking manoeuvre.
“While overtaking, the accused Jamal M., who was driving at excessive speed at the time, failed to see a car driving to his right, resulting in a collision,” Lindemann said.
The crash left two occupants of the other vehicle — a 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman — with minor injuries, while total property damage was estimated at around €200,000. Musiala reportedly stopped immediately after the accident and checked on the condition of those involved.
Following an investigation, Munich Local Court issued a final penalty order against the Germany international on January 28, 2026, for negligent endangerment of road traffic and negligent bodily harm in two cases. Along with a financial penalty, Musiala’s driving licence was revoked, and prosecutors confirmed he cannot apply for a new licence for at least nine months after the ruling became legally binding.
Musiala Owns Mistake
“It is true that I had an accident in April 2025, which I caused. I naturally take full responsibility for it,” Musiala told Bild.
“I’m very grateful that no one was seriously injured due to my carelessness. I’ve accepted my punishment for that and also the driving ban in this form.”
The setback adds to a difficult period for Musiala, who has also battled multiple injuries over the past year, including a fractured fibula and an ankle dislocation suffered during Bayern’s Club World Cup campaign.
