Cocktail 2 promotions have already given fans plenty to talk about, and the latest round of chatter is around Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s viral interaction. The film, starring Shahid, Rashmika and Kriti Sanon, is slated to release in theatres on June 19.
A few days ago, during the film’s music launch event in Mumbai, Shahid was seen placing his hand on Rashmika’s shoulder while posing for the paparazzi. Rashmika quickly stepped back, and the brief moment soon went viral, with many social media users speculating that she looked uncomfortable. At the time, neither Shahid nor Rashmika addressed the clip publicly.

On Friday, May 29, Shahid, Rashmika and Kriti came together
again to promote Cocktail 2. While posing for photographers, Shahid appeared to jokingly reference the earlier viral moment. This time, he playfully moved back from Rashmika, leaving Kriti laughing.
Rashmika took the joke sportingly and responded with a smile. In the videos from the event, she could also be heard telling Shahid that she did not mean anything by it, seemingly shutting down speculation that there was any awkwardness between them.
The new clips have now started circulating online, with fans calling the exchange light-hearted and friendly. The moment also appeared to show that Shahid and Rashmika share an easy equation despite the social media debate around their earlier interaction.
Pritam Reacts To Mashooqa Plagiarism Allegations
Meanwhile, Cocktail 2 was also recently in the news after the release of its song Mashooqa. Soon after the track dropped, some netizens alleged that its tune was copied from the 1993 Italian song Se So Arrubate A Nonna.
Composer Pritam later responded to the plagiarism allegations on social media and expressed his displeasure over the claims.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote, “Every single one of my song releases comes with a set of self-appointed music detectives, who have created a new genre called ‘imaginary similarities’. Same people, same ‘inspired by’ thesis.. Boss, at this point, you are my unpaid PR team..I just want to say guys, NOT NICE.”
