As India gears up to host the 18th BRICS Summit, American singer and actress Mary Milben on Friday extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stressed that the event will remind the world of the value of aligning with New Delhi.

India is hosting the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, seeking to use the grouping as a platform for the Global South amid rising trade tensions and geopolitical turmoil amid conflicts on multiple fronts.

Writing on X, Milben, who is known for her public support for India, said: “World leaders gather in India this weekend for the 2026 BRICS Summit! Sending my best wishes to PM @narendramodi as the host.”

The American singer noted the 18th BRICS Summit will highlight the significance of global cooperation to tackle the world’s most challenging problems.

“This Summit will remind the world of the value in aligning with India and why global cooperation is vital for addressing the world’s most challenging problems. And another very strategic intersection will occur with @PMOIndia, President Vladimir Putin, and President Xi Jinping.”

Milben acknowledged that the geopolitical order is changing, adding the best way forward for the United States is diplomacy that takes into account global welfare as well as alliances.

“The geopolitical order is changing. And the best way forward for the U.S. is a diplomacy that builds for the common good and strengthens global alliances. Just as I stood on the world stage several years ago, I will always stand next to and support PM Modi.”

India To Host 18th BRICS Summit

India is hosting the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, with the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”.

Several world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, UAE Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, will participate in the two-day event.

The 18th BRICS Summit will also see key sideline meetings between Prime Minister Modi and other world leaders, with discussions expected to focus on the current geopolitical landscape in the face of Iran war and energy price shock.
