Two married women, who studied together until Class 12, have allegedly gone missing from their respective homes in Haryana, taking their four young children, cash, and gold jewellery valued at roughly Rs 9 lakh.
The incident came to light after 25-year-old Manju left her marital home in Ballabhgarh with her four-year-old son, two-year-old daughter, and Rs 4 lakh worth of jewellery. When her family launched a search and contacted her childhood friend Reena, they discovered that Reena had also disappeared from her house in Gurugram’s Pataudi area with her four-year-old daughter, 18-month-old son, and Rs 5 lakh in cash and valuables.
WhatsApp Chats Reveal Secret Bond
With both women untraceable, their distraught families examined call logs and private messaging archives. The search
uncovered extensive WhatsApp exchanges spanning over 18 months, in which the women routinely addressed each other as “my cute wife”, “my love”, and “babu”.
The husbands claim the intimate logs confirm the pair were in a romantic relationship and suspect they may have secretly solemnised a marriage before vanishing together. Both husbands stated they have no objection if the two women wish to live together, but appealed urgently for the safe return of their four minor children.
Police Launch Technical Search Across NCR
Formal missing person complaints have been lodged with the Gurugram and Palwal police, who have deployed electronic surveillance, mobile tower tracking, and technical intelligence to locate the missing group.
- The Missing Group: Two mothers aged 25, alongside four toddlers aged between 18 months and four years.
- Valuables Taken: Rs 9 lakh total in gold jewellery and liquid cash carried from both households.
- Official Stance: Police authorities emphasised that claims regarding a “formal marriage” between the two women remain unconfirmed until their statements are recorded upon retrieval.
Investigations are ongoing as multi-state police teams work to trace their location and ensure the children’s welfare.
