Heavy rainfall has caused severe waterlogging across parts of Maharashtra, making daily travel difficult for thousands of people. In Bhiwandi, one resident chose an unusual way to help those stuck on flooded roads by dressing up as one of the world’s most popular superheroes.
The man, identified as Shadab, wore a Spider-Man costume and stepped onto the waterlogged streets to manage traffic and clear stagnant water. His efforts were captured on video and have since drawn praise from many on social media.

Sharing the video, news agency ANI wrote, “A local, Shadab, dressed as ‘Spider-Man’, assists traffic movement amid waterlogging in Bhiwandi.”
The clip shows Shadab standing in the middle of flooded roads, guiding vehicles
through traffic and helping commuters move safely. He is also seen clearing water from the streets to improve the flow of traffic.
Apart from directing vehicles, Shadab is seen interacting with people by exchanging high-fives and shaking hands with commuters, many of whom appreciated his efforts.
He Explains Why He Did It
Speaking to ANI, Shadab said he decided to act after noticing that civic authorities had not reached the area. “I noticed that the Municipal authorities hadn’t come here to address the issue of accumulated water,” he told the news agency.
He also explained why he chose to wear the Spider-Man costume instead of regular clothes. “Inspired by how Spider-Man helps people and saves lives in the movies, I decided to do the same in real life, helping others and clearing away the stagnant water.”
