Vicky Kaushal was named Actor of the Year at a media house’s ceremony, which took place in Delhi on Friday. He got the special honour for his role at NDTV Indian of the Year 2025 as Chhatrapati Sambhaji
Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji in the film Chhaava. While he spoke about his career and the milestones he achieved so far, the actor was also questioned about his life as a father at the event. Vicky Kaushal was asked if he had mastered how to change diapers for his child.
Vicky laughed and replied saying, “I am better at changing diapers than acting. I’d just like to say that.” Moreover, talking about his new journey as a father, the actor said, “It’s very tough. But one day when he watches this, he’ll be proud of his dad. I can’t express in words what it means to be a father.” This was the first time the actor had stepped out of Mumbai after welcoming a baby boy with Bollywood star and wife Katrina Kaif on November 7.

Post receiving his award, Vicky Kaushal said, “Thank you for this honour. This is truly, truly special. It’s a humbling honour. This award is for my family and my little one, who has come in as a blessing. Thank you so much. First time I’m out of town after becoming a father. I’m sure when he grows up, and watches this, he’ll be proud of his dad.”
Vicky Kaushal appeared in minor roles in Bombay Velvet and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012). His debut came as the lead in Masaan (2015), which received critical praise, followed by Raazi (2018) and Sanju (2018). However, his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) cemented his status as a leading man, earning him the National Film Award for Best Actor.He was last seen in Chhaava, where he plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Laxman Utekar directed the film, which also starred Rashmika Mandanna.
