Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s Karuppu is one of the most-awaited ones. As the film heads towards release, the makers today announced its trailer release date. The trailer is releasing on May 10. The information was shared by director RJ Balaji.

Trisha Krishnan As Lawyer Preethi In New Video
The makers of Karuppu have officially introduced Trisha Krishnan’s character from the much-awaited fantasy action film starring Suriya. In a newly released video shared online, the actress was unveiled as “Preethi,” instantly creating buzz among fans.
The makers took to their Instagram handle and shared the video introducing her character as Preethi. She is essaying the role of a lawyer in the film. One of the fans wrote, “Finally Aaru combo is back Suriya Sir and Trisha Mam.” Another wrote, ‘Trisha’s hand action like at same Thalapathy vijay.” Recently, the makers announced the release date. Taking to their Instagram handle, Dream warrior production shared the poster featuring Suriya in an intense avatar. They also announced the release date. The film is now getting release on May 14, 2026.
About the film
Karuppu has generated significant interest since the launch of its teaser, which was unveiled on Suriya’s birthday in June last year. The teaser introduced the actor in dual roles. One character, dressed in white, is a lawyer named Saravanan who hints at having another identity. The other, clad in black and wielding an aruval, appears far more aggressive. The teaser also included a reference to a popular moment from the song “Oru Maalai” in Ghajini.
The film is written and directed by RJ Balaji and produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. The screenplay is credited to Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, TS Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar. The cast includes Indrans, Natty, Swasika, Sshivadha, Anagha Maya Ravi and Supreeth Reddy, among others. Music for the film has been composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
