Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face off in match number 10 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday (April 5).
It will be the first game of the 19th season of the IPL at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium’s first match was played in April 2008, and it has hosted many T20 matches, with the most recent one held in May 2025.
A total of 83 matches have been played at this ground. Teams batting second have enjoyed a slight advantage, winning 47 matches, while teams batting first have won 35. Interestingly, teams that lost the toss have won more matches than those that won it, indicating that the pitch generally offers balanced conditions.
There have been several outstanding performances at this venue. Abhishek Sharma holds the record for the highest individual score with 141 runs, while Alzarri Joseph has the best bowling figures of 6/12. The highest team total recorded here is 286/6, and the lowest is 80. On average, teams score around 163 runs when batting first, making it a good pitch for competitive matches.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Pitch Prediction
The last IPL game, in May of last year, at the ground was washed out after SRH posted 133/7, but the second innings of Delhi Capitals could not be held as the match saw no result.
The Sunrisers are known for their belligerent batting, and the totals they post at home are ridiculous even for modern T20 cricket. Fans can expect another run fest.
