Jaipur, Sep 17 (PTI) Several parts of Rajasthan received moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday as a low-pressure area over Saurashtra and the adjoining Arabian Sea and a fresh western disturbance influenced weather conditions in the state, the meteorological department said.
Jaipur received 37.8 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, while Sikar recorded 26 mm and Ajmer 21.3 mm during the period, according to the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur.
Kota recorded 11.6 mm rainfall, while Vanasthali and Mount Abu received 1 mm each and Jalore 0.5 mm during the period.
Heavy rain lashed Jaipur in the evening, causing waterlogging on roads and traffic congestion at several places in the city.
Thunderstorm and light to moderate rain are likely to continue
in parts of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota and Bharatpur divisions on Friday. The department said conditions were likely to become favourable for the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from some parts of western Rajasthan around September 19 as rainfall activity decreases.
Weather is expected to remain mainly dry over most parts of the state from September 21, it said. PTI SDA PRK
