A post on X has sparked a discussion about employee leave policies after a user shared an interaction with a worker associated with the quick-service platform Snabbit. The post claimed that the worker faced a salary deduction after taking time off for her child’s school admission process.
The claims soon drew attention online, with many users discussing whether workers in service-based jobs are given enough flexibility to handle important personal responsibilities. The issue also prompted a response from Snabbit founder Aayush Agarwal.
Worker Shares Concerns About Taking Leave
The discussion began when an X user described a conversation with a Snabbit worker in his housing society. “I was having a normal conversation with a Snabbit worker at my
society. And then she said something that is just NOT right,” the user wrote.
According to the post, the worker needed a day off to complete her child’s school admission formalities. “She needed a day off to get her child’s school admission done. And kind of thing that only happens during the day, during working hours & hours there is no way around it.”
The user claimed that when the worker requested leave, her team leader allegedly told her, “Get it done in the evening. You can’t leave now.”
Salary Deduction Claim Raises Questions
The X user further stated that the worker decided to go ahead with the admission process because it was important for her family. He alleged that after taking leave, a part of her salary was cut.
“But because getting school admission is priority she went ahead and around 1200-1300 INR was deducted,” the post stated.
The user also claimed that the worker spoke about restrictions related to leave. “She told me that they are given just 2 leaves a month. That’s it. Need a third? Rs 1,200-1,500 gets cut from your salary.”
He went on to compare the situation with workers employed in his own home. “Even house help at my home takes more then 2 holidays a month on need basis but I don’t deduct from their salary.”
User Urges Company To Look Into The Matter
Expressing disappointment over the alleged incident, the X user appealed directly to Snabbit founder Aayush Agarwal. “I’ve heard you’re a genuinely good person and I want to believe that. But something between your vision and your ground ops has gone very wrong.”
“The people carrying your product on their backs deserve better than this. Humanity can’t be the thing that gets optimised out. Fix this. Please,” the post reads.

Founder Denies Deduction Claims
Agarwal later responded publicly to the allegations and rejected the claim that employees lose pay for taking approved leave. “There is ₹0 deduction on Snabbit for taking a leave!” he wrote.
He also asked for more details so the company could investigate the matter further. “Can you message me your phone number and expert name so that we can check what broke in between?” he added.
