Meerut (UP), May 29 (PTI) A man died on Friday after his health suddenly deteriorated during a public hearing related to a land dispute at Kithore police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, officials said.
Circle Officer (Mawana) Pankaj Lavania said a complaint was submitted on May 25 regarding a land dispute between two residents of Shahjahanpur village.
Both parties were called to the police station on Friday in connection with the hearing, he said.
According to the police, Mehboob (55), son of Babu and a resident of Shahjahanpur village, was sitting on a bench near a water cooler under a tree outside the police station gate when he suddenly fell ill.
Police personnel immediately gave him water and administered CPR with the help of people present
there, the officials said.
Lavania said the Kithore SHO rushed him to a private hospital in a government vehicle, from where doctors referred him to a medical college.
Mehboob later died during treatment. The SHO and medical team ensured all necessary medical assistance was provided, the officials said.
Necessary legal proceedings are being carried out in the matter, the police added. PTI COR KIS SMV APL
