Veteran actor Satish Shah is no more. He passed away on Saturday due to kidney failure. The news of his demise has left his fans, colleagues, and loved ones in mourning. Satish Shah was popularly known for his role in the TV show ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’, and the entire team of the sitcom expressed their grief after his death. The show’s producer, JD Majethia, revealed that Satish had spoken to his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star Ratna Pathak Shah just two hours before his death. Majethia said the news came as a complete shock, as the veteran actor had also spoken to writer Aatish Kapadia earlier that morning around 11 a.m.
Satish Shah Had Spoken To Sarabhai Co-Star Ratna Pathak Shah Hours Before His Death

JD Majethia revealed that he had spoken to his on-screen wife from the show, Ratna Pathak Shah, about two hours before he passed away. “I couldn’t believe it because he had a chat with Aatish Kapadia at 11 am. He had a chat with Ratna ji at 12:57 pm. And after two hours, we got to know he is no more. The day before yesterday, we were supposed to meet. I was right below his house, but he said he was too tired to meet. I’m about to retire. I told him my family also wanted to meet him. Bohot pyaar karte the betiyon se, very close to my wife (He loved my daughters a lot, was very close to my wife),” said JD Majethia.
JD Majethia further added, “He spoke to everyone on the phone. He said, ‘Look how I’m sounding, I’m so healthy.’ He told me, ‘Aav ne pachi madiye, that ‘pachi’ will never come now. (He told me we shall meet later, but that later will never come now).”
For the unversed, Satish Shah played the role of Indravadan Sarabhai in the show, while Ratna Pathak Shah played his on-screen wife Maya Sarabhai. Aatish Kapadia is the writer and creator of the show, and he also appeared as Anirudh Mehta a.k.a. Kaccha Kela in one of the episodes.
Rajesh Kumar Mourns Satish Shah’s Death
Rajesh Kumar, who plays Satish Shah’s on-screen son Rosesh in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai also expressed his grief. “This is the worst hour for me. I still cannot process that Satish ji is no more. All I can say is that it feels I have lost my father. A man full of life and humour. Challenging everything. Made his name left his mark as an actor. This is a big big loss to the industry and us (Sarabhai’s family). Let’s pray for his departed soul and keep him in your prayers,” he wrote. In another post, he shared a picture of Satish Shah, and wrote, “We spoke about this look of yours couple of days back.. dad you are a liar you said you will be back in sometime. never knew that you will show us your back and leave us like this…I miss you…I am sorry I delayed our meeting… only if.. you know you have changed the RIP to RIH forever…REST IN HUMOUR DAD. Will try to smile like you always.”
