Gurugram, Jul 8 (PTI) Gurugram Police have arrested a car driver for allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving rashly and negligently. The Baleno car used in the incident has also been seized, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident took place on July 2 near a petrol pump on Southern peripheral Road (SPR), injuring a pedestrian.
On receiving information, a police team reached the spot and learnt that the injured man had been admitted to Medicare Hospital in Civil lines for treatment. The team visited the hospital and sought the doctor’s opinion on recording his statement.
Initially, the doctor declared the injured man unfit to give a statement. On July 3, after he was declared fit, police recorded his complaint.
In his complaint,
the man said he had come to Gurugram with a friend on july 2. While he was standing by the roadside near the HP petrol pump, the driver of a Baleno car, allegedly speeding and driving rashly and negligently, hit him, causing injuries to his leg and other parts of the body.
The accused fled the spot with the vehicle after the accident, police said.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Badshahpur police station.
During the investigation, police arrested the accuses, identified as Ravindra, a resident of village Anangpur in Faridabad, from Gurugram on Tuesday.
“During interrogation, it was revealed that on the day of the incident, the accused had been driving his Baleno car at high speed in a rash and negligent manner and had hit the complainant, thereby causing the road accident.
