Vikram Prabhu Hails Dulquer Salmaan And Rana Daggubati’s Kaantha As A Tribute To Cinema

Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati’s Kaanthatells a fictional story inspired by the legendary director Ayya, played by Samuthirakani, and his complicated relationship with TK Mahadevan, a young film star.

Audiences have responded positively to the film for its performances and plot.

Now, actor Vikram Prabhu also lauded the project by commending Dulquer, Rana, and the team for capturing the magic of cinema while showing the challenges and imperfections behind it. He highlighted the strong performances of the cast and thanked the team for “bringing a diamond on screen.”

Rana Daggubati Confirms Kaantha’s Story Is Completely Fictional
Ahead of Kaantha’s release, there were rumours that the film was based on the life of legendary actor MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. However, Rana Daggubati clarified in an interview with 123 Telugu that the story was entirely fictional and not connected to the actor’s life.

He said, “If something happens now in a studio, everyone will get to know it immediately. But a lot of stories like these happened, but not many will know about them. The story is penned inspired by such incidents. We can call it the dark side of the great people. Two great people fighting for their brilliant craftsmanship excited me.”

Speaking more about the film, Dulquer Salmaan said, “Kaantha is a special film in my career. Only once in a lifetime do actors get the opportunity to be part of such films. It is difficult to recreate such an experience again. Rana and I decided to do this instantly when we heard the script.”

“We love cinema, and it’s the driving force for us. Kaantha celebrates cinema. The drama and emotions will be beautiful. Movies like these don’t come so often. This is a rare gem. Audiences will have a fantastic theatrical experience. I have immense confidence in this film,” Dulquer added.

Written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, other than Dulquer Salmaan, Kaantha also stars Samuthirakani and Bhagyashri Borse in key roles.
