Bengaluru has been experiencing an unusually cold spell over the past few days, with residents reaching for sweaters and blankets even during the daytime. Cloudy skies, increased moisture in the air, and cool breezes triggered by Cyclone Ditwah have added to the chilly conditions.
The sudden chill in Bengaluru has caught everyone’s attention, with people sharing their experiences online in equal parts surprise and humour. The cold weather has also led to some stunning visuals, including a panoramic video showing the city blanketed in fog.

Temperature Drop And Its Effects On Bengaluru
Bengaluru recorded its coldest day of the year on Saturday, November 29, when the daytime temperature dropped to just 21.6 degrees Celsius. Normally, November sees maximum temperatures around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius, so this dip is noticeably cooler than usual.
“The drop in temperature is largely influenced by cloudy weather and increased moisture in the air, along with the breeze triggered by Cyclone Ditwah,” India Meteorological Department Bengaluru CS Patil told Times of India.
The cold and foggy weather also affected daily life. At Kempegowda International Airport, dense morning fog caused major disruptions, with a spokesperson confirming to ANI that approximately 41 flights were delayed due to reduced visibility.
