In what was a memorable Saturday for India at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, boxers, judokas and track & field athletes combined to bring home as many as 16 medals – a haul that included 8 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. Modi said for Preeti after she won the women’s 54kg boxing title to kick-start the medal rush on Day 10.
On Jasmine Lamboria’s gold in the women’s 57kg boxing event, he said, “Congrats to Jasmine Lamboria for winning the Gold in the 57 kg Women’s Boxing event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Her commitment and consistency are clearly reflected in her success. My best wishes to her.”
Congratulating Sakshi for winning the women’s 51kg boxing gold, Modi wrote, “A prestigious Gold for Sakshi in the Women’s 51 kg Boxing event! Congratulations to her on a commanding performance and a decisive victory. May she continue to scale greater heights!”

Among the silver medallists, Modi congratulated Praveen Chithravel for winning silver in the men’s triple jump, noting that he also registered the best jump of his career.
