The horror genre is once again gaining solid ground in Bollywood. After years dominated by sequels and horror comedies, 2026 will see several standalone horror films that are not part of any franchise.
These films promise fresh stories, new characters, and original scares.
Unlike formula-driven horror, these upcoming films will focus on atmosphere, suspense, and layered narratives rather than loud shrieks or jump scares. Some will experiment with silent horror, while others will explore slow-burn tension, signalling a bold new direction for Bollywood horror.
