Shubman Gill seems to be getting all the help he needs on his maiden assignment as the captain of the Indian ODI team. While Gill will definitely want to leave an impression on his own, he has the experienced
shoulders of former skippers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to lean on whenever needed.
And the two senior stalwarts don’t seem to be hesitating from intervening and speaking their minds out, as was evident with Rohit having discussions with the bowlers on field placements.
On Saturday, it was Kohli who looked quite animated as he stopped Gill in his tracks for a short chat with wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul midway through the Australia innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Kohli, playing in his final international fixture on Australian soil, will hope he bows out on a high after recording two ducks in a row for the first time in his glorious ODI career.
India Restrict Australia At SCG
Aiming to avoid a historic clean sweep, Indian bowlers produced a fine show to bowl out Australia for 236 in Sydney. Matt Renshaw scored a fine half-century but Harshit Rana-led India bowlers struck at regular intervals to keep Australia from exploding.
After opting to bat first, Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head led a solid start with a 61-run partnership which Mohammed Siraj broke by having the latter caught on 29.
The Aussies then failed to construct regular partnerships against a tidy effort by the Indians with the ball and on the field, particularly in the middle overs when spinners choked the run flow. Pacer Rana was impressive during his four-wicket haul (4/39), a spell in which he generated good pace and bounce off a fresh SCG turf.
