The Intelligence Bureau has announced a fresh round of recruitment for Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade II/Technical posts, offering engineering graduates a chance to join the country’s premier internal intelligence agency without a written examination. Applications for the 2025 cycle will close on November 16, 2025.
The notification details 258 vacancies across specialised technical streams. Of these, 90 posts are reserved for B.Tech graduates in Computer Science or Information Technology, while 168 posts have been allocated for those with degrees in Electronics and Communication. The position carries a Level-7 pay scale, amounting to Rs 44,900-Rs 1,42,400 per month.
Eligibility hinges on candidates having secured at least
the minimum qualifying score in the GATE examinations of 2023, 2024 or 2025, in addition to possessing a degree in one of the prescribed engineering disciplines. The age limit has been fixed at 18 to 27 years as on November 16, 2025, with the usual relaxations for reserved categories.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting based entirely on GATE scores from 2023, 2024 or 2025.
- Candidates shortlisted at a ratio of 10 times the number of vacancies.
- Skill test to be conducted in Delhi.
- Interview round for those clearing the skill test.
- Preparation of the final merit list based on GATE scores, skill test and interview performance.
- Background and character verification after provisional selection.
- Medical examination prior to final appointment.
Officials said the recruitment drive reflects the IB’s continued effort to strengthen its technological backbone as cyber threats rise in scale and complexity.
