Ananya Panday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with cousin Ahaan Panday and gave fans a glimpse of their family festivities through a series of pictures on Instagram. From the customary rakhi and shagun to hugs and sibling banter, the cousins kept their celebrations intimate and cheerful.
The occasion was doubly special for the Panday family. Ananya revealed that it was Alanna Panday’s first Raksha Bandhan with the family after four years, while her son River celebrated his first Rakhi.
Ananya Panday Ties Rakhi To Ahaan Panday
For the festivities, Ananya opted for a pink ethnic suit, while Ahaan wore a shimmery black kurta-pyjama. One of the pictures shows Ananya tying a rakhi around Ahaan’s wrist. Another captures Ahaan handing his cousin the customary
shagun ka lifafa. The two are also seen sharing a hug.
Ananya accompanied the pictures with a characteristically playful message for Ahaan, writing, “Happy Rakhi to my Ahaani who takes the Raksha in Raksha Bandhan veryyyyyy seriously 🤭🤭🤭💪🏼 lots of Huggies and kissies this Rakhi @alannapanday s first one after four years and Rivers first Rakhi.”
The carousel also included Ahaan’s sister Alanna and her son River. Ananya shared an affectionate picture with the little one as the family marked his first Raksha Bandhan.
Fans responded warmly to the family pictures. One user called Ananya and Ahaan “The best brother sis jodi,” while another described them as the “Bestest siblings duo.”
Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan And Others Celebrate Raksha Bandhan
The Pandays weren’t the only Bollywood family celebrating the festival on Friday.
Alia Bhatt shared a childhood photograph with elder sister Shaheen Bhatt before adding a recent picture of the two together. She kept her caption to a single word, “Ghar,” describing Shaheen as home.
Sara Ali Khan also celebrated with brother Ibrahim Ali Khan and members of the Pataudi family. Soha Ali Khan, meanwhile, shared a photograph with her brother Saif Ali Khan.
Salman Khan was spotted visiting sister Alvira Khan’s home for the festivities. Dressed casually in a maroon T-shirt and jeans, the actor later posed for photographers and showed his wrist covered with rakhis.
Sanjay Dutt, Preity Zinta, Randeep Hooda, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut were among the other celebrities who shared glimpses from their celebrations.
What’s Next For Ananya And Ahaan Panday?
Both Ananya and Ahaan have projects lined up after their Raksha Bandhan break.
Ananya was last seen in Chaand Mera Dil and will next return as Bella Chowdhary in the second season of Call Me Bae.
Ahaan, meanwhile, made his acting debut opposite Aneet Padda in Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara. He is now set to move into the action-romance space with an untitled film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
The upcoming project will be Ahaan’s next film after Saiyaara, continuing his run in Hindi cinema following his debut.
