Hyderabad, Sep 8 (PTI) Two BRS MLCs were on Tuesday arrested here in connection with a case registered against them over alleged derogatory remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, police said.
A case was registered against Thatha Madhusudan and N Naveen Kumar Reddy under relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act following which they were taken into custody, a police official said.
A major political row erupted on Monday over allegations that Thatha Madhusudan made derogatory comments against Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, a Dalit leader.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had termed the alleged remarks as an “insult” to four crore people of Telangana.
However, Thatha Madhusudan denied making any comments against
the Speaker.
Several Dalit Congress MLAs and MLCs alleged that BRS MLC Thatha Madhusudan made derogatory remarks against Speaker Prasad Kumar.
The comments were allegedly made when police stopped the opposition legislators, from entering the legislature premises. PTI VVK ROH
