It’s Amitabh Bachchan’s 83rd birthday today, October 11, and his fans from all over the world are celebrating this occasion with enthusiasm. Fondly known as Big B, the Bollywood megastar continues to inspire
generations with his unmatched charisma and versatile performances. As the thespian turns a year older, his fans are leaving no stone unturned in making his day truly special.
Since early in the morning, crowds have begun gathering outside his iconic Mumbai bungalow, Jalsa, the same residence where he religiously makes an appearance for his fans every Sunday. In a video shared on Instagram, a fan was seen dressed as Big B’s character from his 1983 action-comedy film Coolie. He even sported the legendary actor’s signature white beard.
Fans Hang Posters Outside Jalsa For Big B’s Birthday
As the clip played further, it showed how the road outside Jalsa was decorated with large posters of Amitabh Bachchan’s hit films, featuring birthday wishes and turning the area into a festive zone. Fans from different parts of the country sent their best wishes to the actor, expressing their endless love and admiration for him.
Another clip, which was seemingly taken before sunrise, showed two fans dancing in front of Big B’s home. While one of them was dressed as a coolie in their quintessential red uniforms, another man wore an outfit similar to the actor’s character in his 1988 film Shahenshah. As they shook their legs outside the gates of Jalsa, other fans of the Bollywood star stood in awe of their performance. The celebrations felt nothing short of a festival for his fans.
What’s Next For Big B?
The Bollywood megastar is known for roles that speak volumes about his versatility. From making his debut in the 1969 film Saat Hindustani as a freedom fighter to slipping into the shoes of a futuristic rebel in the 2024 sci-fi movie Kalki 2898 AD, Big B has indeed come a long way in his career.
The legendary actor was last seen on-screen in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh, among others. The film was released theatrically in October last year. As of now, he also has Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84, featuring Diana Penty and Nimrat Kaur, in the pipeline. He will lend his voice as narrator in the upcoming film 120 Bahadur, featuring Farhan Akhtar. Currently, Big B is hosting the 17th season of the quiz-based reality TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
