A month-old video of a monkey in the Soron tehsil of Prayagraj resurfaced as well as stunned all viewers after it was found biting a bundle of Rs 500 notes on a tree. In an unbelievable sight, this little monkey snatched a small carry bag from a passerby, climbed up to a tree, picked out the bundle of notes and tore it apart with his teeth.
The locals passing by the tree noticed the monkey in his shocking act after suddenly observing notes torn apart flying in the air. A few of them then captured the animal in a viral video that was later shared by ABP News and grabbed eyeballs on the internet. In the clip, one could see a monkey holding a stacked bundle of notes and biting all the precious money that someone must’ve been carrying on the streets.

Describing the incident, ABP News noted, “Suddenly, notes started raining from a tree in Soron tehsil of Prayagraj. When people looked up, they found a monkey holding a bundle of 500 rupee notes in its hand and chewing it, and upon making noise, it fled after causing a shower of notes!”

In the video, one could hear a local suspecting it was a bundle of Rs 50,000 that the monkey tore apart and put to absolute waste, one bite at a time. As this group of men shouted at the monkey, the animal grabbed the bundle of notes between his teeth and rushed to the other side of the tree.

The sight of the monkey snatching someone’s bag, picking out the bundle of notes and chewing it left the internet stunned as social media users reacted to the video.
“There’s a proverb that “What does a monkey know about the taste of ginger”…. Today, the monkey has proven the said proverb right, showing that it fits him perfectly!!” commented a user.
Someone else creatively said it is monkey’s message for “materialistic individuals to return to nature.”
“Think the monkey liked the taste of money,” quipped an individual.
The internet users may have had fun watching the monkey in its element, but the incident does raise a security concern in the surrounding area, with many locals perhaps encountering these notorious little thieves on a daily basis.
