Spanish pop sensation Enrique Iglesias is facing online backlash after a video from his Mumbai concert surfaced showing him allegedly lip-syncing to his hit track Be With You. The clip has gone viral across social media platforms, with fans expressing disappointment and frustration over the lack of live vocals.

The singer, who performed two back-to-back sold-out shows at Mumbai’s MMRDA Grounds on October 29 and 30, returned to India after more than a decade. While the concerts were filled with nostalgia as he belted out his timeless hits like Bailamos, Escape and Hero, one viral video has divided opinions online.

“We Waited 13 Years For Lip-Syncing?” Fans took to social media to vent their disappointment,

with one user writing, “Sad to see him lip-syncing.” Another commented, “We all waited 13 years just for lip-syncing? He should’ve come in his prime.” Some even criticised the crowd’s energy, saying, “The crowd doesn’t even know the lyrics lol.” Others went a step further, calling the performance a “waste,” claiming the singer “ain’t even singing.”

Despite the criticism, concert attendees, including Bollywood celebrities like Malaika Arora, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Sonal Chauhan, and Pragya Jaiswal, were spotted enjoying the show and singing along to his hits.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Enrique Iglesias will be attending Shah Rukh Khan’s intimate pre-birthday dinner at his residence, Mannat. The bash, hosted ahead of SRK’s milestone 60th birthday on November 2, will be attended by close friends including Karan Johar and Rani Mukerji-Aditya Chopra.

The Spanish hitmaker is expected to skip other social engagements in Mumbai to attend the private celebration. Fans are already calling it “the crossover we didn’t know we needed.”

Interestingly, Enrique isn’t the first international artist to face such criticism. Back in 2017, Justin Bieber was heavily trolled for lip-syncing during his India concert, with fans feeling shortchanged after paying hefty ticket prices for a show they expected to be live.
