Hyderabad Top Cop Slams Man's Train Stunt For Reel: ‘Nothing But Foolishness’

A viral video showing a man lying between railway tracks as a train speeds over him prompted Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to issue a stern public warning, condemning the dangerous stunt as “nothing but foolishness.” The shocking footage shows a man deliberately positioning himself on railway tracks, waiting for an approaching train before flattening his body in the narrow space between the rails.

The train passes directly over him, with only inches of clearance separating his body from the speeding vehicle. Moments after the train clears, the man stands up unharmed and poses for a second person who filmed the entire stunt, apparently for social media content.

Commissioner Sajjanar emphasized the extreme danger of such acts, warning

that even the slightest miscalculation could prove fatal.

“Running behind virality and attempting such stunts may look heroic, but in reality, it is nothing but foolishness,” the caption accompanying the police warning video stated, adding, “A split-second mistake could cost lives. Be Responsible, Not Reckless.”

The video has triggered widespread outrage across social media platforms, with users demanding strict legal action against those involved in the stunt.

“Not irresponsible these guys are spoiling other kids by nonsense actions. I think Australia did the right thing by stopping the use of Mobile phones for kids and now it’s time we should act on it and specially these kind of acts should be banned and bring stringent law,” one user commented while another wrote bluntly: “He deserves atleast 6 months of jail as a reward for his adventure.” A third added: “Railway department has to take action against him.”

Railway authorities have made clear that such stunts constitute serious criminal offenses under the Railways Act, 1989. The act includes provisions for endangering the safety of railway passengers and obstructing railway operations, both of which carry significant penalties including imprisonment.
