Los Angeles, Jul 4 (PTI) Actor Maya Da Costa, known for essaying Coley in the romantic drama film “Girls Like Girls”, is set to feature in the “Paranormal Activity” film.
The film is directed by Ian Tuason, known for directing the 2025 release “Undertone”. It serves as the eighth instalment in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.
The project is set to release on May 21, 2027. The plot details and characters are kept under wraps. It is financed and produced by Paramount and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Paramount handling the global release.
Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Steven Schneider, Dan Slater and Cody Calahan serve as executive producers on the film.
The first film in the franchise released
in 2009 and revolved around a couple, Katie and Micah, who move into a suburban residence. Just to start experiencing a terrifying, supernatural presence. The project turned into a hit and was followed by other releases in 2010, 2011, 2012, fifth and sixth installments in 2015 and the latest film in 2021.
Da Costa made her acting debut with “Girls Like Girls”, which released on June 19. The film was directed by Hayley Kiyoko and revolved around Coley, a teenager who moves to rural Oregon and falls for Sonya (Myra Molloy).
She will next feature in “The Social Reckoning”. The film is directed by Aaron Sorkin and is a sequel to “The Social Network”, which released in 2010.
