Patna, Jun 15 (PTI) Bihar Advocate General P K Shahi has resigned from his post and cited no specific reason behind the move.
Confirming his move, Shahi said that the letter has been sent to Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. “There is no specific reason behind this move, and it is entirely voluntary,” he told PTI on Monday.
Shahi was appointed the state’s top law officer for the second time in January 2023. His earlier stint as the advocate general was between 2005 and 2010, during Nitish Kumar’s first tenure as chief minister.
Kumar had inducted Shahi into the state cabinet upon returning to power in 2010. He held key portfolios such as education, environment and planning.
In 2013, he also fought the bypoll to the Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat on a JD(U)
ticket but lost to the RJD by a huge margin. He quit politics a couple of years later to concentrate on practising law. PTI PKD NSD
