Mumbai’s local trains are more than just a mode of transport. For lakhs of commuters, they are a daily routine, a shared struggle and often the setting for moments that quickly capture the internet’s attention. From unexpected acts of kindness to quirky incidents, videos from local trains frequently go viral.
The latest one doing the rounds features a ticket collector whose towering height has left social media amused and impressed.
Tall TC’s Video From Mumbai Local Goes Viral
The viral video was shared on Instagram by user Avinash Mohite and shows an extremely tall ticket collector checking tickets inside a crowded local train. As he moves through the compartment, his head repeatedly brushes against the roof near the hanging handles, highlighting
just how tall he is compared to the cramped space of the train. Sharing the clip, the user captioned it humorously, “Height itni ki ticket bhi khud salute kare.”
Internet Recognises the TC
The short video struck a chord almost instantly and has already crossed 1.5 million views on Instagram. While many viewers reacted with jokes and emojis, the comment section soon turned into a space filled with personal stories and praise from regular Mumbai commuters who recognised the ticket collector.
One commuter wrote in Marathi, “Morning 9:14 KALYAN AC TRAIN. Sir khup kind natureche ahe ahet,” pointing out that the TC is usually seen on the Kalyan AC train and is known for his polite and kind behaviour. Another user commented, “We are seeing him since 1997 from our school days he was very young at times, posted in harbour trains,” suggesting that the TC has been serving passengers for decades.
