Thane, Jul 1 (PTI) A 46-year-old man was electrocuted to death after allegedly coming into contact with a live power cable while in an inebriated condition in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said on Wednesday.
Dharmendra Ramkisan Gupta lost his life at his home located in the Murbad Road locality of Kalyan on the night of June 28, they said.
Citing the preliminary investigation, police Gupta returned home drunk and allegedly pulled the power supply wire connected to a refrigerator. The wire snapped, and the live broken cable came into contact with him, causing a severe electric shock, an official said.
Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead, he said. The body has been sent to a government hospital for
a post-mortem.
A case of accidental death has been registered at Mahatma Phule police station, and a probe is underway, an official said. PTI COR NR
