In an online space filled with clips of people littering public property and exhibiting poor ethics, a video of a woman using her scarf to clean the bubble tea she had spilt on the train won people over.
The incident happened in China, where a woman accidentally spilt the tea while travelling on a subway train. Moments later, she stunned everyone by taking out the scarf she was wearing and wiping out the spilt tea with it.
The woman reportedly tried to clean up the moist floor with the tissues she was carrying, but once she ran out of them, she took out a brown-coloured scarf and started mopping the tea away. It is understood that the incident took place on Thursday, December 4, in Jiangsu, China.
Woman Shows Remarkable Civic Responsibility
On display through the video were the woman’s etiquette and a strong sense of civic responsibility. As she ran out of tissues, she took out her scarf for cleaning purposes and didn’t stop until she made sure the spilt tea was completely wiped out of the train’s flooring.
In such circumstances, most travellers would’ve given up on the task after the tissues were finished and requested the train’s staff to take over the cleaning mantle. But this earnest woman took full responsibility for spilling her bubble tea and wiped it off herself, not even hesitating to sacrifice her scarf in the process.
People Appreciate The Woman Wholeheartedly
As the video of the incident spread over the Indian internet, people poured their hearts out in praise for the Chinese woman and lauded her for her sincere efforts to ensure the public property remained clean.
“I’m proud of her,” commented one person.
An individual shared their own experience of Chinese people and highlighted their etiquette, saying, “I work at a Chinese company and my boss once spilt water and he himself wiped the floor with a paper towel.”
“Respect to society and to this lady, she did well,” said another individual.
As the train authorities in China noticed the woman’s act, she was reportedly offered a new scarf as a gesture of gratitude after her own got damaged.
