Anees Bazmee has assured fans that No Entry 2 is still very much in the works, despite recent reports of delays, scheduling issues and possible changes in the cast. The long-awaited sequel, which is expected to feature a new ensemble led by Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh, has remained in the news over uncertainty surrounding its production timeline.
Anees Bazmee Says No Entry 2 Is Still On Track
Addressing the delay, Anees Bazmee told Hindustan Times that some films take longer than expected to come together, but the team is making every effort to ensure that No Entry 2 gets made.
He said, “Kuch filmon ki kundli hoti hai. Main maanta hoon ki kundli hoti hai. Kabhi koi film jaldi ban jaati hai, kabhi der se banti hai. Lekin Inshallah,
hum sabki koshish hai ki yeh film bane.”
The filmmaker further shared that he has written No Entry 2 with a lot of affection and considers it one of his best-written films. While he acknowledged that the project has taken time, Bazmee maintained that the sequel is definitely moving ahead.
He added that everyone associated with the film is excited about it and believes audiences will enjoy what they have planned. “Jo bhi log is film se jude hue hain, sab bahut excited hain. Aur log is film ko bahut pasand karenge,” he said.
No Entry 2 Cast Changes And Scheduling Issues
No Entry 2 has been surrounded by speculation in recent months. Earlier, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh had exited the project because his dates did not align with the film’s schedule. Soon after, there were also reports claiming that Varun Dhawan had stepped away from the film.
However, no fresh official announcement has been made regarding the final cast or revised schedule.
When the sequel was first announced with a new cast, Boney Kapoor had told PTI, “That chapter is over,” referring to the original star cast. He had added, “Now, we have Diljit, Varun and Arjun in the film. Varun and Arjun are best of friends, and Diljit is fantastic at comedy. So, I think this makes for a good and interesting combination.”
Original No Entry Stars Not Returning
The original No Entry, released in 2005, starred Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan in lead roles, along with Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly. The film became one of the biggest comedy hits of its time and continues to enjoy strong recall among audiences.
Boney Kapoor had earlier confirmed that Salman, Anil and Fardeen will not feature in No Entry 2. The sequel is expected to introduce a fresh cast and the team is reportedly in the process of casting 10 female actors for the project.
Despite the delays, Bazmee’s latest statement indicates that the sequel has not been shelved and remains an active project.
