Star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma entered her name in the record books on Sunday (June 28) by becoming the leading wicket-taker in women’s international cricket.
Deepti needed just one wicket in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match between India and Australia at Lord’s to surpass Jhulan Goswami’s tally of 355 wickets, and she achieved the feat by dismissing a Australian opener Beth Mooney on the first ball of Australia’s 10th over in the run chase.
The ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match between India and Australia at Lord’s is Deepti’s 279th appearance for the Women in Blue, and she now has 356 wickets to her name.
