YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, popularly known as Flying Beast, has sparked discussion online after sharing a strange incident involving a watermelon that began releasing foam from inside. The content creator posted a video showing the fruit bubbling continuously in his kitchen, leaving his family confused and concerned. The clip quickly led to conversations online, with many users debating whether the fruit had chemicals inside it or if the reaction was caused by heat and fermentation.
According to Taneja, the watermelon had been bought by his wife, Ritu, from a local fruit seller for a late-night snack. However, things took an unexpected turn the next morning when the fruit started producing foam on its own.
The Watermelon Started Foaming
In his vlog
titled “Tarbooz Mein Nikala Zeher (Poison found in watermelon)”, Taneja explained that the watermelon was left outside because there was no space in the refrigerator.
He said that when he returned home after attending a pooja, the fruit was still bubbling. “Even after I returned from the pooja around 9:45 am, the watermelon was still foaming,” said Taneja. He further added, “It was then that Ritu told me that the watermelon had been foaming since morning.”
The YouTuber showed the unusual visuals in the video, where thick foam could be seen coming out of the watermelon for several hours. Since the reaction did not stop even later in the day, Taneja decided to take the fruit back to the shopkeeper from whom it was purchased.
According to him, the vendor denied using any chemicals on the fruit and explained that gas had likely formed inside the watermelon naturally.
Social Media Users Shared Their Own Theories
The clip soon started discussions online, with many social media users trying to explain what may have caused the strange reaction.
Some people feared the fruit may have contained harmful chemicals or pesticides, while several others believed it was simply internal fermentation caused by heat.
“A foaming watermelon is rapidly fermenting and rotting internally, often due to high heat, damage, or bacterial infection, and should never be eaten,” a user wrote.
Another commented, “That’s internal fermentation caused by the bacteria. In hot weather, bacteria break down the sugar and cause this fermentation.”
A person also shared a similar experience and wrote, “Sir this same thing happened with me also, I also kept the watermelon outside fridge at night, and due to high temperature in north India, aisa hota h watermelons mein. Always store them inside fridge, and consume withing 1-2 days.”
Another comment read, “It was kept at a high temperature for too long. Always store fruits in the refrigerator. Bacterial growth happened inside the fruit, due to which it fermented from the inside, which is why there was gas buildup.”
