Star India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, on Saturday, April 18, took a stunner to dismiss Sameer Rizvi for just two runs and give his team a fair chance to defend the 176-run target against the Delhi Capitals.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru were electric in the field, piling pressure on Delhi Capitals during the chase. Phil Salt pulled off another superb catch in the deep to dismiss Karun Nair for five.
Reeling at 16/2 in the third over, the Axar Patel-led team were in desperate need of a stabilising partnership. But Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck again, his third of the spell, thanks to some sharp assistance from Jitesh.
A few deliveries after Nair’s dismissal, Rizvi edged a good-length ball outside off from Bhuvneshwar.
Alert behind the stumps, Jitesh dived to his right and stretched out his glove to pouch the ball just before it hit the ground.

Rizvi’s lean run after a promising start continued even after returning to his preferred No. 4 spot, where he had earlier found success. After starting his campaign with consecutive fifties, he has managed just eight runs across his last three knocks.
