Ward No. 173 (F/North) is one of the 227 wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India’s largest Municipal Corporation. This ward is reserved for and has a total population of 55559, of which 6339 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 460 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.

The extent of the ward as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: A line starting from the junction of Central Railway Lines (Harbour branch) and northern boundary of Mumbai City Limit at Chunabhatti Railway Station and running southwards along the northern boundary of Mumbai City upto its junction with Chuleh Creek across Vasantrao Naik Express Marg and General Arunkumar Vaidya Marg; thence southwards along the Chuleh Creek upto its junction with Wadala Monorail Depot Marg across General Arunkumar Vaidya Marg at Chandani Creek; thence westwards along the northside and westside of Wadala Monorail Depot Marg upto its junction with ‘A’ Naala; thence Westwards along the northside of the said Naala upto its junction with eastern compound wall of Tata Power Yard covering Shastri Nagar Zopadpatty; thence northwards and westwards along the said Compound wall upto its junction with‘A’ passage leading to northern compound wall of Transit Camp Bldg. No. 65 & 66 at Almeda Compound; thence westwards along the northside of the said Passage upto its junction with northern compound wall of Transit Camp Bldg. PREVIOUS BMC ELECTION RESULT
The last Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Shiv Sena was the single largest party with 84 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party won 82 seats. Indian National Congress secured 31 seats, Nationalist Congress Party won nine, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won seven seats. Other parties included Samajwadi Party, which won six seats; the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won two seats and the Akhil Bhartiya Sena won a single seat. Five Independent candidates also won seats in the election.
