The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board or UPPRPB will close the recruitment process for constable positions in the police, PAC, UP SSF, jail warder, and mounted police tomorrow, January 30, 2026.
Online applications for this recruitment began on December 31, 2025. Candidates who are interested and eligible but are yet to apply can do so through the Board’s official website, uppbpb.gov.in.
UP Police Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details
The UP Police are recruiting for 32,679 vacant constable posts. According to the notification, there will be 10,469 posts for both male and female candidates in the civil police, 15,131 vacancies for men in the PAC, and 1,341 vacancies for male candidates in the UPSSF. The Board will recruit 2,282 female candidates for the PAC Women’s Battalions in Lucknow, Badaun, and Gorakhpur. Additionally, there are 106 vacancies for female jail warders. The notification also states there are 71 vacancies for male candidates in the mounted police and 3,279 for male jail warders.

UP Police Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard from a recognised board.
Age Limit: The age limit for male candidates is 18 to 22 years and for female candidates is 18 to 25 years. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per rules.

UP Police Recruitment: Selection Process
The selection process consists of several stages. Initially, candidates must pass a written examination that evaluates their basic skills and knowledge. This is followed by document verification and a physical standard test (DV/PST), which involves checking documents and assessing physical parameters. Physical ability will then be tested in the physical test. If a candidate is found to be using steroids, stimulants, or narcotics during the physical test, their candidature will be immediately cancelled and legal action will be taken.
