Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowler Nandre Burger has been fined 10 per cent of his match fees and has also accumulated One Demerit Point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Wednesday.
“Nandre Burger admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 – pertaining to using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match – and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction,” IPL said in a statement.
“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the statement added.
The Royals,
powered by an all-round performance from their bowling unit, inflicted a 40-run defeat on hosts LSG on Wednesday.
