The ‘One8 Commune’ restaurant in Bengaluru, formerly co-owned by Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, has been shut down following a court order. According to multiple reports, the establishment failed to clear dues exceeding Rs 2 crore, prompting the action.
Kohli had earlier severed ties with the restaurant and withdrawn his brand name. The outlet, located near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, had faced repeated compliance issues, including alleged fire safety violations. It had also received a notice from the civic body for operating without mandatory clearances, including a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
A report by India Today stated that the restaurant, which opened in 2023 and was operated by Trio Hills Hospitality, had defaulted
on rent payments for several months, with outstanding dues crossing Rs 2 crore.
The restaurant has reportedly incurred losses and will remain closed until the dues are cleared. Additionally, in June last year, a case was filed against it under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act as there was no designated smoking area on the premises.
Besides, the restaurant was also found to be operating beyond the legal hours.
Meanwhile, Kohli is currently representing RCB in the ongoing IPL 2026 where the franchise is aiming to defend the title. With four wins and two defeats, they are currently second on the points table and next face Gujarat Titans on Friday.
Kohli has been in impressive form having scored 247 runs from six innings at a strike-rate of 157.32.
Djokovic Reveals Admiration For Kohli
Tennis royalty Novak Djokovic recently revealed that he started following cricket because of Kohli and hopes to meet the India batting star.
“Yes, Virat is a friend and someone I, of course, respect and admire. He is actually, to be honest, the reason why I started following cricket,” Djokovic told Times Now.
“When I come to India, hopefully he can join, and then we could do a little bit of tennis, a little bit of cricket, and have fun and just spread positive, good vibes with people and celebrate sport,” he added.
