After its theatrical release earlier this year, O’ Romeo is now making its way to digital screens. The romantic action-thriller, written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, had hit cinemas on February 13, 2026, during the Valentine’s Day weekend, where it received a mixed response from critics.

Rooted in themes of revenge, obsession and ambition, O’ Romeo explores the dark intersections of love and violence within the 1990s Mumbai

underworld. The screenplay has been co-written by Vishal Bhardwaj and Rohan Narula, and is inspired by S. Hussain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

What Is O’ Romeo About?

Set in 1995, the film follows Ustara, a young man who falls deeply, and dangerously, in love with Afsha. His affection soon spirals into obsession, pulling him into a world of crime and vengeance.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Afsha asks him to eliminate four individuals, including Jalal, a powerful don based abroad who is responsible for her husband’s death. What unfolds is a tense narrative driven by love, loyalty and the consequences of blind devotion.
