13 legislators to be sworn in alongwith D K Shivakumar

Bengaluru, Jun 3 (PTI) Thirteen legislators, most of whom were ministers in the previous Siddaramaiah-led government, will take oath as ministers alongside Karnataka Chief Minister-designate D K Shivakumar on Wednesday, party sources said.

Senior Congress leader G Parameshwara will be the new Deputy Chief Minister.

Shivakumar, the leader of the Congress Legislature Party, has sent the list of Ministers to be sworn-in to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

“I humbly request the Hon’ble Governor to administer the oath to the Chief Minister and Cabinet Ministers,” Shivakumar’s letter to the Governor said. The new CM and Ministers will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Gehlot at 4.05 pm at Lok Bhavan’s Glass House.

As per the list,

along with Shivakumar and Parameshwara, the legislators, who will take oath as Ministers are — K H Muniyappa, K J George, M B Patil, Ramalinga Reddy, Satish Jarkiholi, Krishna Byregowda, Priyank Kharge, U T Khader, Esahwar Khandre, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Byrathi Suresh, and Sharan Prakash Patil.

Barring Khader and Yathindra, all the others were ministers in the outgoing chief minister iddaramaiah-led council of ministers.

Khader had been the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Yathindra is Siddaramaiah’s son. PTI KSU VGN
